- If the doctor does not feel that ADHD is a likely diagnosis, you will be returned to your usual GP care. In cases which are particularly complex due to comorbidities, the doctor may refer you to a psychiatrist or paediatrician to perform the assessment.
- Pre-visit questionnaire: Before this appointment, you will be provided with self-rated ADHD questionnaires. We require you to complete this prior to your visit. You may also be asked to complete a blood test and electrocardiogram (ECG).
- Assessment scope: The doctor will review your questionnaire alongside your history, symptoms, and functional impact to determine whether ADHD is likely and what other conditions may explain your symptoms.
- The appointment will go for up to 1 hour.
- The doctor will use this information to create your report prior to the third appointment.
- This appointment will go through your final ADHD assessment and management plan with the doctor.
- You will be provided with a copy of your assessment and have the opportunity to ask questions.
